In Spain we have not accurate “formula” to calculate Child support. Usually it is calculated according to child expenses in education, housing, extracurricular activities, summer camps, clouding, and many more.
While the court is willing to take into account extenuating circumstances that affect one’s ability to pay child support, the expert’s formula provides a good estimate of what you will be expected to pay. If the combined income of the parents per year, a judge has the discretion to determine the amount of support to be paid over and above that amount.
If a non-custodial parent is currently paying child support for children from other marriages or mothers pursuant to Court Orders, the court may subtract the amount currently being paid and use the remaining amount as base income before applying the child support formula.
